Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan

Last May, our little family had a very quick but awesome trip to Cebu as Tatay tagged us along for his company’s summer outing. We stayed in Crimson Resort and Spa for 3 days and 2 nights where we had a blast! I was looking forward to exploring Cebu, but it was extremely difficult for us, especially Zayne, to leave the resort. I could not blame our three-year-old because every nook and cranny of Crimson Resort was absolutely breathtaking!

We arrived in Cebu around 10AM. We booked Grab at the airport. We reached the resort a little before 11AM, and this view welcomed us!!!

Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan Pool

The management of Crimson Resort set a function room where everybody from Tatay’s office could have a seamless check-in. We were welcomed by very warm staff members and a refreshing drink which we all enjoyed. You can see in our vlog below how Tatay and I tried and failed to guess what was in their drink. Hihihi!

Because our rooms were not yet ready, the staff members allowed us to leave our luggage at the function room. During check-in, the receptionists handed us out a map of the resort. Seeing that we were with Zayne, they immediately suggested that we check out Crimzone. And it was such a brilliant idea because Zayne didn’t mind the wait!

Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan Crimzone

Crimzone has a separate pool area, but we didn’t get to try it because Zayne already had tons of fun at the play area! Zayne woke up really early for our flight, but she was able to squeeze in a nap at the plane. Parents know how a toddler’s energy go from 0 to 10,000 after a nap! A toddler is the perfect example of the positive effects of having a power nap. The word POWER was not placed there without a reason! Haha! Susme, sumuko kaming mag-asawa! And to think that we were just on the first hour of our three-day trip! :p

Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan Crimzone Play Area

Guests are welcomed by a giant play den! You’ll see on our vlog how Zayne enjoyed going up and down the slide and swimming through the pool of blue balls. On the other hand, Tatay enjoyed throwing balls to my face!

Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan Crimzone Slide

There are giant pink balls and a trampoline at the other side of the play den. Siyempre, hindi ‘yun pinalagpas ni Zayne at ng panganay kong anak na si Boyet! HAHAHA!!!

Outside the play den are tables, chairs and shelves that house books, educational toys and supplies for arts and crafts. This was where Tatay and I alternately “rested” while Zayne was playing. I just forgot to take a photo, but they also have a separate area with toys that are suitable for babies and smaller toddlers.

They have a room called the GAME COVE. Zayne peeked at the room and immediately lost interest when she saw bean bags, large screens and game consoles. She instantly went inside the play den instead. :)

After a long talk just to convince Zayne to stop playing, she finally gave in when we told her that it was already time to go see our room. We went back to the function room, but we were informed that the room was not yet ready. It was understandable given that it was still early for the standard check-in time. We then decided to have lunch at Azure first.

Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan Azure Chicken Karaage

We were still full because we had breakfast before our flight so we just opted to have chicken and pasta. I was so shocked seeing the prices at the menu so I had to remind myself that we’re inside Crimson. But then I totally forgot about the food prices the moment I tasted the food. Ang sarap lalo na ng pasta!!! Nakakabobo sa sarap! =))

Ampanget lang ng picture ko, pero masarap! Pwamis!!!

The scallops were so big that I was so embarrassed to complain about the price. It was also perfectly cooked. The chicken karaage was honestly plain, but the dips on the side, especially the orange one on the photo, hyped our taste buds!

And how can I complain about the steep price when I have this view while having lunch?!

Our room was finally ready when we went back after lunch. We shared a golf cart ride with some of Tatay’s office mates. Zayne immediately gave her seal of approval the moment we opened the door of our room! She wouldn’t stop saying WOW at everything she sees! My daughter is someone who has been going to staycations even before she turned one year old, and she’s also someone who speaks her mind. Amazing talaga ang room namin!

I kind of expected that our room would be gorgeous because Tatay and I stayed in Crimson Hotel in Alabang years ago, and it was one of the best staycations in our book!

As you can see in the video, Zayne said, “It’so cold” as soon as we entered the room. We went to Cebu in May when our AC in the house was not enough to fight the scorching heat, and it was also the time when there was a water shortage in Manila. Kaya sobrang saya ng bagets na nakaiwas sa init ng Manila kahit 3 araw lang!

Zayne didn’t even allow me to take decent photos because she went straight to the bed. She started jumping while shouting, “I love it, Tatay! I love our room! I like it! This is sooooo amazing!”

Halata bang masaya siya?! :p

Here she was checking out and getting so amazed at the book lamp! :p

After Zayne got tired of jumping, I asked her permission if I could take a picture of the bed. She nodded and said, “Okay, Nanay!” And then she did this! HAHAHAHA!!!

Our bed was amazing! Zayne kept on saying that the bed, pillows and linens smell so good! We went to Cebu just a couple of months after I started having anxiety attacks. The bed at Crimson Resort was just one of the many reasons why I was able to unwind. Before this trip, I was so used to waking up in the middle of the night because of palpitations, but I had uninterrupted sleep for two consecutive nights during our stay!

Our room also has a couch which can fit another person to sleep in. Our bed was already big enough for the three of us so the couch just served as a temporary shelter of all of our mess. Hihi.

I don’t usually get impressed with the TV in most of the hotels that we had been to because more often than not, our cable TV at home has more channels. But I was so surprised with their cable subscription. We went to Crimson at the height of Zayne’s obsession with Paw Patrol. The TV in our room was hooked to Nick Jr., and we watched Shimmer and Shine, Butterbean’s Café and Paw Patrol on loop.

Our accommodation came with complimentary coffee, tea and bottled water. And during check-in, the receptionist informed us that everything at the bar was ours to consume for free.

The room has a closet which houses the hangers, slippers, bath robes, umbrella , flashlight, fire extinguisher and safety deposit box.

Our bathroom was divine! We really had very good laugh when Tatay started playing around on this part of the room. Kitang-kita naman sa vlog namin ‘di ba?! Hahaha!

Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan Bathroom

Boyet and I had a lot of theories why the bathroom was designed that way. His green mind says that it’s designed as such so the person outside can see the one taking a bath! Haha! I said that the designers probably thought that it’s for parents so they can still watch their young kids while they’re in the bathroom. But then I told Tatay, “Exhaust yata kasi alam nilang ang baho ng t@e mo!!!” Wahahaha!

The following night, we went to the room of one of Tatay’s bosses to have a pizza party with his office mates. I saw that apart from the TV opposite the bed, his room also has a TV inside the bathroom! So I guess our bathroom was designed that way because our room only has one TV! :p

I’m really particular with bathrooms every time we stay in a hotel. We were all in awe the moment we opened the bathroom door. The colors complement the overall look and feel of the entire room.

I also loved the fact that there are enough lights which suit whatever you need to do inside the bathroom. You can turn on one dim light if you’re just going to pee in the middle of the night or turn on everything when you need to take a bath. It also has additional lights near the mirror when you need to put on your makeup.

The bathroom is really spacious! Tatay, Zayne and I could still move around freely when we’re all inside the bathroom.

A lot of hotel rooms with a bathtub already have the showers installed on top of it. But I liked that this bathroom has a separate shower area apart from the bathtub. Aside from the glass panels, the shower area is designed with the drain lower than the floor. This is why we didn’t experience having wet bathroom floor all throughout our stay. Tuwang-tuwa talaga ako sa pinag-isipang banyo. Hehe!

Our room also has a balcony which has a very nice view of bougainvillea in full bloom! Kitang-kita niyo naman sa vlog namin ang qiqil ko sa mga bogambilya nila, dabah?! Haha! Our room smells really good, but it smells even better when we open the balcony door. Ang bango ng mga bulaklak! There was just this one time when it smelled like alimuom because they were watering the plants.

Apart from the chairs, there’s also a drying rack where we hang our wet clothes. It came in really handy because we couldn’t afford to have excess baggage from the wet clothes. Ang dami kasi naming inuwing pusit at danggit! Hahaha!

After Zayne’s afternoon nap on our first day, she asked to check out the beach. Tatay and I agreed that we’ve seen other better beaches. It was already past 5PM when we went to the beach, and the lifeguards already prohibit swimming. It didn’t bother us because Zayne just came to the beach for the sand! We came back the next morning, and the sea was much calmer.

Their pools are amazing! I really wanted to at least have a Cebu City tour, but Zayne refused to leave the water!

Look at her smile!
And look at my eye bags! :p

They have a kiddie pool and a much bigger infinity pool. I was really amused watching people in the infinity pool. The resort has a lot of Korean guests. They really go all out in making sure that their photos are all Instagram-worthy! Effort kung effort! They even bring props for the photos. Women in bikinis wear high-heeled shoes. And I was so amazed how their makeup stays even after soaking in water! Sorry, ang tsismosa ko lang! Mas napansin ko sila kesa sa pool. Eto na lang ang picture ng pool para sa inyo. HAHAHA!

Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan Swimming Pool

The resort has different gimmicks to spice things up. They light up the pool area at night. And the following day, we were all surprised when this happened…

Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan Bubble Pool

It started with a music blast followed by bubbles/foam getting out of two giant bubble-maker machines on both sides of the bigger pool! The mood turned festive as the crowd began dancing and chanting. Kasi nga naman, may ligo na, may libreng laba pa! Charot!

I considered that moment as a small victory for me as a mother. I initially didn’t want Zayne to go to the pool full of bubbles because it really smelled like strong detergent. I told Boyet, “Baka mangati si Zayne. Bahala ka!” He simply gave me THE look, but I understood that it was his way of telling me, “Huwag ka ngang OA!” Sabi ko talaga kapag nangati si Zayne, ibababad ko ng 3 days si Boyet sa Zonrox. Ok naman si Zayne. HAHA!

Tatay’s company had a welcome dinner on our first night. That was the time when my very shy daughter, who refused to say HI to people, decided to steal the show by having a concert. She danced and sang. Inawat lang namin para tumigil na. Nasa vlog lahat ng ‘yun, mga beshies!

We were asked to come in floral attires.
Eto si Zayne nung niyaya niya ako na mag-play lang daw siya sa stage. Aba, maya-maya nag-concert na! =))

Because the dinner served to us was really good, my expectations with their breakfast buffet went up the roof. We were fortunate to have seats right away when we arrived at the restaurant the following morning. A few minutes later, we saw people started lining outside. The restaurant is big with tables outside, but we went there on a summer weekend so the resort was probably fully-booked.

Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan Breakfast Buffet

I once again failed to take photos of the buffet station because I didn’t want to be a hindrance to the other guests lining up for food. And besides, we were all hungry so our primary goal was to get food as soon as we were seated. Hihi.

Their breakfast buffet was really extensive. Apart from the usual Filipino staples, the resort made sure to cater to the palates of their foreign guests. There were choices of Japanese, Chinese and Korean food. They have pancakes, breads, bacon and sausages for our friends from the west.

Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan Breads

They have cereals and other breakfast choices that would definitely appeal to kids. They also have salads and cold cuts. They even serve fresh fruits. They slice ripe mangoes upon the guests’ request.

Everything from their buffet spread was good. I just noticed that the selection the following day was almost the same. I understand that some of the food choices should be present every day, but I was hoping to have some variety especially with the main dishes.

Apart from the amenities and food, the other thing I really liked in Crimson Resort is the fact that the place literally looks like a gigantic garden! Titas of Manila like me will surely enjoy every corner of the resort. I saw different kinds of trees which I haven’t seen in a long time! Flowers were blooming everywhere. It was really hot during our visit, but we all didn’t mind the long walks from our room to the restaurant, reception and beach (and vice versa) because strolling with different plants in sight was such a delight.

I started having anxiety attacks a couple of months before this trip, and gardening was one of the things that helped me manage it. My brain definitely thanked me for the relaxing view, uninterrupted sleep, endless laughs and all the different plants I saw for three days.

Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan Trees

I kept on telling Tatay that I was so tempted to bring home some flowers to plant to our mini garden at home. On our last day, which happened to be Mother’s Day, Tatay gave me a bunch of santan. Huwag kayong judgers. Nagpaalam siya tapos ‘yung gardener ang pumitas! Hihi. We didn’t bring it home kasi baka manuno kami. :p

I also appreciate that everyone in Crimson Resort was very warm, friendly and accommodating. Everybody was greeting us. I honestly could not remember an instance that a staff member failed to acknowledge us. They would greet us and say HI to Zayne. We honestly felt taken care of during our three-day stay.

We all had a wonderful time in Crimson Resort. I told Tatay that I just felt bad because we were not able to take a lot of family photos. He said that we were all having fun that’s why we forgot to take tons of pictures.

Nag-effort kami for a family picture kaso lang BLERD! :p

I’m just glad that we at least have the 30-minute vlog uploaded on our YouTube channel. I hope you spend time watching it because my pictures might not give justice to my claim of how gorgeous Crimson Resort is. I only use a cellphone camera, pero promise, maganda talaga sa Crimson!!!

Subscribe to our channel na rin! :)

It has been almost half year since our Cebu trip, but Zayne still won’t stop talking about it. She even prays every night that we would be able to go back to Cebu. She saw me writing this blog post, and she exclaimed, “That’s Cebu! I want to go back to Cebu!” We only went out of the resort once to buy water and have lunch. We went back to the hotel afterwards. At least nakakain ako ng lechon. But I really want to go back… for more lechon! HAHA! I initially felt bad that we didn’t get to explore Cebu, but I felt better after Tatay’s office mates complained of the terrible traffic. And besides, Zayne enjoyed every single minute she spent at Crimson Resort!

This photo was taken before check-out.
After this photo was taken, she started asking if we could live at Crimson Resort!
HAHAHA!!!
