Product Review: Happy Skin Make A Clean Sweep Revitalizing Micellar Makeup Cleanser

Believe it or not, I only started wearing makeup after I got married three years ago. So the very little knowledge I have with cosmetics are from two sources: my kikay BFF and the reviews of other bloggers. But lately, I realized that not everything that works for them will also work for me. We all have different types of skin which also means that we have different needs and different issues to address. Once in a while, I fall into the trap of trying out a product just because someone else recommended it. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t. An example of the many misses I had in the past was with makeup removers.

I have already tried various kinds from different brands – wipes, creams, gels and oil-based makeup removers. My main concern with the other makeup removers I have tried before was their inability to completely remove mascara. I even considered switching to another brand of mascara just to get this issue out of the way. But the mascara I am using makes me look better so I didn’t want to let it go! Haha! The oil-based makeup remover I tried before did wonders in removing mascara, but it was so messy! The oil sticks to my face even after washing. The gel makeup remover was soothing to my eyes, and washing it wasn’t a problem. But for the longest time, I end up sleeping with traces of mascara. So in a nutshell, the strength of brand X turns out to be a weakness of brand Y. It became a cycle of trial and error until I finally tried Happy Skin Make A Clean Sweep Revitalizing Micellar Makeup Cleanser!

I came across the brand Happy Skin late last year. I love their Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippie! Read my review here. Anyway, I was planning to buy another shade of lippie when I saw the makeup remover.

“Wipe away the remnants of bad vibes, heavy makeup, and a long day, and let your skin breathe. Happy Skin Make A Clean Sweep Revitalizing Micellar Makeup Cleanser makeup remover is a gentle yet potent water-based makeup cleanser. Micellar water, boasting the highest makeup removing powers, leaves skin fresh and clean without having to rinse!

Why You Should Love Micellar Water: Originating from France, it is a non-rinse, soap-free cleansing water that contains micelle molecules. Micelle molecules are brilliant in trapping makeup & dirt! They have the highest makeup removing powers. Being ultra-light, all-natural and fragrance-free, it leaves skin feeling soft, supple, and fresh.

This makeup remover is infused with Japanese Tea extract, an anti-inflammatory which soothes stressed and tired skin. It’s loaded with revitalizing Lotus Seed extract, a powerful anti-oxidant which not only keeps skin looking plump and young-looking, it also locks in moisture as you cleanse!” - Source: happyskincosmetics.com

When I first read this, I thought that it was just too good to be true. But I am very satisfied with how it works after using it for weeks. My mascara is completely gone in a few wipes. I don’t need to put on pressure to my eyes just to get everything off so that means no falling eyelashes! (Kaunti lang kasi ang eyelashes ko. Every strand is precious! Nyahaha! :p) It has a gentle smell. It doesn’t sting. It does not leave any yucky residue. And my face actually feels “refreshed” after using it. Some even say that you don’t need to wash your face after using this, but I’m just too OC not to wash my face before going to sleep. Hihi.

Lastly, it only costs PHP599. Two drops are already enough to clean my face so I am thinking that this bottle will last for months! I definitely got my money’s worth. ;-)
