Applebee’s

We always pass by Applebee’s on our way to the supermarket. But the thing that convinced us to pay the place a visit was their 2 for $20 deal where we get to choose 1 appetizer and 2 entrees. It would have only taken us less than 5 minutes to get to Applebee’s from our hotel but one wrong turn and too much relying on GPS made us travel for almost an hour. As soon as we arrived, Zel and I immediately rushed to the ladies’ room because the extended travel time put our bladders to the limit.

When we went out, the two boys agreed to treat us with an extra appetizer. JV initially made the wrong turn, while Lloyd chose the “go home” option in the GPS that led us to the GPS owner’s house which is actually in a different city.

They chose Spinach & Artichoke Dip. Spinach and artichokes mixed with melted cheeses were a perfect combination for tortilla chips to swim in. It’s really mouth-watering plus I got to enjoy it for free!

The boys suggested we take the Appetizer Sampler as our choice for our 2 for $20 meal. I was glad they did. The platter also has the Spinach & Artichoke Dip along with quesadilla, mozzarella sticks and Buffalo wings. I munched non-stop, specifically the spinach and artichoke dip which I generously spread over the tortilla chips. I was like dipping and eating everything I could grab. I think I was really tired after our road trip!

We then got the Three-Cheese Chicken Penne and Riblet Basket to go along with the Appetizer Sampler. I enjoyed the pasta dish because the cream sauce perfectly coated the pasta. The chicken was cooked just right. The grill marks were visible but the chicken was not burnt.

We were given three choices for the ribs' sauce – Southern BBQ, Sweet & Spicy and Honey BBQ. I can’t remember what we chose but I am positive that it wasn’t Sweet & Spicy. I am really trying to remember. Ok, I give up! :)

We just needed to halt devouring on our meal because we needed to go home since Zel wasn’t feeling well that night. :(

I really enjoyed the friendly ambiance and the good food offered by Applebee’s. It was a perfect way to pacify my growling stomach after being lost. It was also a nice treat after hearing out-of-this-world theories from Lloyd that we might end up in a town where they kill people who get lost. :)
