Shooting outdoors was out of the equation. We could risk Zayne’s mood swings because she is naturally a happy baby but not her sweat glands! ‘Yung liit kasi ng anak ko, kalahati niya gawa sa pawis! Well, we’re actually PAMILYANG PAWISIN. Baka maamoy kami sa pictures! Haha! :p
What I failed to take into consideration was the fact that Zayne was at the stage when she was having a hard time warming up to strangers, specifically to boys. She’s generally friendly and sociable, but she went through a “phase” when she was about to turn one year old. I bet our photos would have turned out better had we done it after her first birthday. We went home from our Bacolod trip after her first birthday, and my little darling became extra cheerful. It was as if traveling turned her into an entirely different person. But despite all the chasing and trying so hard to make her smile, our photo shoot was still a very memorable one. I can’t help but smile each time I look at our photos. The photos make me look back at the times when my heart was being repeatedly broken by failed relationships, bad decisions, infertility, frustrations, disappointments and plans that didn’t go my way. I look at my husband and my daughter, and I wonder what good had I done in my past life to deserve such a beautiful family. *heart heart*
I had tons of photos, but these are my favorites. This is going to be a photo-heavy post, so I do hope you stick around until all the photos have fully loaded. Hihi. And once again, pardon my daughter’s simangot poses.
We first went to the kiddie area of Ascott Makati so Zayne could warm up. I don't think we were succesful! It was really funny because she would give out giggles when we tried to make her smile, and then she would look at the camera, frown, and give Dar a glaring look! Haha! Buti na lang cute si Zayne! :p
Trying to make Zayne smile in front of the camera became even harder when we started shooting in our suite. I was so frustrated because Zayne is naturally a bungisngis baby. I’m pretty sure you know what I’m talking about if you’re following me on Instagram! Apart from this, Zayne was also at the stage when she would repeatedly take off her hair tie! She ended up looking like a commercial model of BRAND X shampoo! Hahahaha!
OMG! I love this photo! Parang ang bait kong nanay. Hindi halata na gigil na gigil na ako sa anak ko sa kalikutan! :p
Zayne finally showed some signs of warming up around the third hour of our shoot! Kung kailan uwian na, saka tumawa ng tumawa! :p
Another thing that we prepared for was the cake smash! We got a simple (but very delicious) round cake from Ninang Joie. For months, Zayne had practiced exemplary self-control during her monthly birthday celebrations. She would always grab her birthday cake every time we take her mandatory monthly birthday photo. I thought that the cake smash would not be a problem. I was wrong! When I told her that she could grab the cake, Zayne just froze! Hahaha! Tatay even had to “force” her to smash the cake! I guess I will not be having a problem telling her not to eat sweets until she’s two! :p
I’ve looked at our photos countless of times for months, and I could not help but feel really bad. My husband and I prepared for our photo shoot so we could have decent family portraits. But now that Zayne is already 14 months old, I have come to realize that our photos are perfect. First, the pictures were able to capture Zayne on her last few days as a BABY – full of energy, enthusiasm and inquisitiveness. I will never be able to take those days back now that she has more energy, enthusiasm and inquisitiveness! Hahaha! And second, despite the lack of “staged” pictures, I’m just really glad that Dar was able to translate how we are as parents to Zayne through his candid shots. :)
Ang cute ng mga pictures! We also did a simple smash cake with my twins and super nakakatawa sya kasi dahil tuwang tuwa sila sa cake hindi nila tinigilan!
ReplyDeleteI love the photos! Galing mag pose and smile ni Zayne for the camera, namana sa good-looking parents! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! Si Zayne hanggang ngayon ayaw ng cake! :p
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jackie! Kinilig naman ako sa good-looking parents! Hahaha! :p
