Review: Shopping at Taste Central

It was just an ordinary day when my friend slash office mate slash seatmate, Abby, asked me what brand of mascara I use. I told her that I’ve been using the Fairydrops mascara (see my review here) for almost a year already. When I told her that I bought it from Beauty Bar at PHP1195, she said that it’s a bit expensive. Fortunately, I am a lurker at Deal Grocer as I am always on the lookout for great deals. (Birds of the same kuripot feathers flock together!) I told her that Taste Central has a promo which cuts down the price of the mascara to PHP717!

After creating an account, I found out that there is a flat delivery charge of PHP100. I figured that it would be cheaper if we purchase together to take advantage of the flat delivery rate. My mascara is about to dry out really soon so I also bought one for myself. And you know how girls shop! We were just planning to buy the mascara, but we were engrossed in scanning all the other items from their website. We also got the 3 bottles of Morrocan Argan oil from The Souq Organics. We agreed that I’d get one bottle from the set. The set originally costs PHP4500. But we only got it for PHP3600 at Taste Central! While I was checking out our bill, I noticed that the delivery fee was waived! I even checked the receipt sent out to me and even my credit card bill to confirm. I think they waive the delivery charge if you reach a certain amount! *insert image of kuripot girls doing a cartwheel here*

I placed our orders around 10 AM. At around 4 PM, a housekeeping staff member from our office went to my work station carrying a box. My initial reactions were, “May gift ako? Ano ‘to, cake?! Hindi ko naman birthday! May secret admirer ako?!” Hahaha! After around 10 seconds of being clueless, my eyes finally saw the words TASTE CENTRAL on the box! Believe it or not, I screamed out of surprise! When I told Abby that we already received the items, she screamed with me! Hahahaha! Crazy, kuripot friends! :p



We weren’t expecting that we’d receive our orders that fast! We immediately checked the box and found all items in perfect condition. Taste Central offers hassle-free online shopping experience. Taste Central has everything – food, clothes, shoes, cosmetics and even home furniture! After my first purchase, I found myself hanging out at their Kitchen & Dining section. My husband and I will be moving in soon to our new house so we are now starting to get some inspirations for building my dream kitchen! I am pretty sure that I will be doing some serious shopping at Taste Central soon! =)
