Restaurant Review: Outback Steakhouse

Hubby and I once again found ourselves back in the Quezon City area after he spontaneously asked me to go back to the St. Pio Chapel. After praying and getting our favorite custaroons, we searched the vicinity for a place to have our late lunch. We were planning to go to Eastwood but Boyet told me that it was out of the way. That led us to Outback Steakhouse. Among all the "pricier" restaurants I have been to, Outback Steakhouse is on top of my list when it comes to quality and customer service. It’s definitely a place where you wouldn’t mind shelling off some extra bucks because you’ll surely get your every centavo’s worth.

As soon as we got in, a staff member ushered us to our seats. And then another staff member attended to us right away. A visit to Outback Steakhouse is not complete without devouring into their freshly-baked complimentary bread! This is one of the things I always look forward to my every visit to Outback.

This board with a loaf of bread and their home-made butter is always a delight to my eyes. And as expected, the bread was still piping hot when I first had a bite. I have always loved the texture and the hint of sweetness of this bread.

Knowing that Outback Steakhouse has generous servings of food, my husband and I decided to just get a main dish and an appetizer. My eyes were immediately glued to the Kookaburra Wings because I simply love the usual hot and spicy chicken wings.

I was still recovering from flu when we went to Outback so the Kookaburra Wings forced me to go the restroom because I could not stop from coughing. It was that spicy! Hahaha! But as most of you probably know by now, I love anything spicy so these Kookaburra Wings made my taste buds really happy. I think my husband only got to eat a piece! :p

Most people tend to snob the bleu cheese dip that goes with the chicken wings but not me. I love love love bleu cheese. My husband and my friends find it really weird. Well, I am weird that way. :p

Hubby’s choice was Grilled Pork Chops. It comes with fries so he decided to get his rice fix. That only means that the fries were all mine. Harharhar!!!

I initially got worried when I saw how thick the cut of pork chops were. I was thinking that it would be bland and dry. But I was wrong! I love how the juices ooze from the meat as we cut through it. There was enough fat to keep the meat moist and juicy. And the pork chops were cooked to perfection. The meat was also flavorful as it is. But the dip that came with it definitely added some kick to the already tasty meat.

Hubby also got Outback’s flavored ice tea. The usual iced tea is infused with mango flavor. And because I was not feeling well that day, I opted to have their fresh lemonade. I loved that my drink has real lemon pulps.

And once again, I just want to rave how exemplary their customer service is. I initially asked the waiter if I could have hot lemonade instead as I was still recovering from flu. And then we both requested to have two glasses of water served. Boyet and I were impressed when the waiter handed us one glass of cold water while the other was lukewarm. All their staff members are very attentive. They also checked on us once in a while to know if we still needed anything or if we were enjoying the food. =)
