My family celebrated Mother’s Day last Sunday by having a quick stroll at the mall and a dinner at a restaurant of my mom’s choice. Since I was paying for the dinner, I asked her beforehand where she would want to eat. She mentioned Joey Pepperoni and Volare, both of which are known to serve yummy pizzas. I was expecting she’d choose something grander since I was paying. But maybe my mom got shy. Hehe! :)
We all fell in love the first time we tried JP’s mozzarella sticks. I suggested we get Lotto Appetito which is a platter of mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers and breaded tomatoes. Unfortunately, all of us were disappointed because everything in the platter was so salty. When we first tried the mozzarella sticks, my dad complained because all of us got two sticks while he only got one. It was the exact opposite with the Lotto Appetito because all of us were pointing fingers on whom to finish the left-overs on our plate. :(
I misplaced our receipt so I forgot what this pasta dish is called. Though it looks like spaghetti with meatballs, I am really not sure if it is. The pasta-all-you-can promo was no longer available. But if I’m not mistaken, we got this pasta dish for only Php89. The serving was small compared to the regular order but every bite was enjoyable. I loved the smoky flavor of the meatballs which complemented the strong essence of the garlic bread on the side.
My brother was indecisive whether to get carbonara or lasagna but he finally settled with the latter. The layers of lasagna sheets were packed with Bolognese sauce and white sauce and topped with mozzarella and parmesan cheese. The overflowing cheese will surely capture the hearts of all the cheese lovers out there.
The buy-one-take-one pizza promo has already ended but they have a new one to replace it. We got two 12-inch pizzas for Php399(?) only. Unlike before where you have the liberty to choose for flavors of pizza, the choice now is only limited to Pizza Messicana and their new pizza flavor.
The mixture of beef, bacon, cheese, mushroom and special Mexican seasonings in Pizza Messicana didn’t disappoint me. But I have to say that the Bacon Mushroom Melt Pizza (I totally forgot the exact name) stole the spotlight. I fell in love with the texture of the melted cheese and the flavors from the generous toppings of bacon and mushroom.
I remember the time when I did everything to convince my mom to try JP. But now, I don’t know when she’ll ever get tired of it. ^_^

Up to now, I still have not tried this restaurant. But I will surely post and blog about it for sure one of these days. BTW, the lasagna looks yummy!
