Restaurant Review: Capricciosa

Kriska, Joie, Jeff, Marwin, Mike and I had an agreement to have a monthly dinner to catch up. We had our first get-together last Friday and I was assigned to choose the place. I struggled to come to the office earlier so I could finish my tasks and leave the office in time for our 7 pm dinner. My hands were quite occupied so I tried to rush everything. I even skipped breakfast. I was busy working when tadah! The alarm went off! Fire drill! I lost almost 90 precious minutes. Huhu!

The original plan was to have dinner at Cibo. I called them at around 3 pm but they told me that the earliest time they could accommodate us was 8:30. John and Yoko does not accept reservations on Fridays – Sundays. Thank God for munchpunch.com for directing me to Capricciosa.

Kriska and Mark arrived first. Joie and I followed a few minutes after. We already placed our orders while waiting for the rest to arrive. I was so stunned when the 3 dish that I asked for came to our table. So we just merged all our orders to feed all 9 people instead. Wheeww!

I loved the smoky, salty taste of their Smoked Salmon Spring Rolls. I was astonished at the generous amount of salmon in this dish. It was served in fried wanton and a bed of green salad. It comes well with their special dip.

I read from online reviews that their lasagna is a must-try. I could say that Capricciosa’s is one of the best-tasting lasagna in town.

Stuffed with Cheese, Pepperoni, Chicken & Sausage, their calzone is best served with their special marinara sauce.

Quattro Formaggi is also a must-try. I loved the combination of the four cheeses over a thin-crusted pizza. There is one cheese though that stands out, which Joie claims as “lasang bacteria”. Waha!

Good food, great service and nice ambiance for a simple get-together. We even had an unexpected guest.
