SOBA IS NOT RAMEN!!!
I was too embarrassed to walk out of the restaurant. Pinanindigan ko na lang ‘yun kashungakan ko. But because we enjoyed it the first time, we decided to repeat the same “mistake” a couple of weeks ago! Hahaha!
Diners actually have the option to choose between udon and soba in some of the hot noodles from their menu. My husband had Niku Fuji Soba while I opted to try Ebi Ten Soba.

My husband and I are used to the usual rich and pungent flavors of ramen. That is why it was quite refreshing to slurp the milder and lighter broth of Nadai Fujisoba’s hot noodles. I loved that the broth is tasty but not overpowering. My taste buds were like an athlete being massaged after a tiring workout.
Niku Fuji has sliced beef, boiled egg, onion leeks and wakame seaweed. I loved how the thinly-sliced strips of beef melt in my mouth. The yolk of the boiled egg made the broth a little thicker and tastier. I actually saw my husband giving me the why-are-you-eating-my-food kind of look! Hahaha!
Ebi Ten has two pieces of prawn tempura, onion leeks and wakame seaweed. The prawn used for the tempura is actually big. I also liked the fact that I could actually taste the prawns and not mostly breading! The tempura helped me recover from the beef I “robbed” from my husband’s bowl! Hahaha! There was a generous serving of the onion leeks in both bowls making our hot noodles more flavorful.

My husband always gets a side dish every time we eat ramen. It’s usually a toss between gyoza and karaage. I think Nadai Fujisoba does not have gyoza from their menu so my husband decided to get karaage.
There was nothing in it that made us go, “Wow!” It was just ok. If I’m not mistaken, it’s served with mashed potatoes with chunks of carrots.

Apart from the good food, another thing that makes Nadai Fujisoba stand out in my mind is the look and feel of the restaurant. Black and white are the prominent colors at Nadai Fujisoba. Although I don’t understand a single thing, I could not help but stare at the Japanese murals at the restaurant’s walls. Hihi!
Galit ba siya sa akin? :p
