Blogapalooza is an event where bloggers and business brands meet. It was held last October 11 at SMX Convention in SM Aura Premier. It was initially scheduled a couple of weeks before that, but it had to be moved due to bad weather. Unfortunately, Joie, who was supposed to join us, failed to come because of her prior commitments. And to make things worse, I had to attend to a medical appointment that same day! I think Aubrey arrived 2 hours earlier than I did, so she already had the chance to look around the booths. When I arrived, I was so surprised because she already met someone! She introduced me to Neri, the mommy blogger behind Nheng’s Wonderland. Anyway, the three of us went around the booths that they hadn’t checked out yet. But because I was so tired (I was in line at the hospital since 8AM), I failed to come back to check out some of the booths. Huhu!
Yeah, mali ang spelling ng name ko. What's new?! :p
Now, allow me to tell you what I did and didn’t like at the Blogapalooza.
The Venue
Since there were 700 bloggers who registered for the said event, SMX was actually a good choice. It was my first time to get inside so I was surprised that the venue is really big. I used to pass this by every time I go to SM Aura, and I never imagined it to be that big. Mukhang maliit kasi sa labas.
I also applaud the organizers who managed to make sure the orderly traffic inside the venue. Even if there are a lot of booths, bloggers and guests could still walk at ease. Even the registration area is big enough to accommodate the guests.
The Freebies
I loved the idea of discovering and being able to try some brands which I only heard that day for the first time. Some of the brands were literally unknown to me. And these brands took the opportunity to let the public know, with the help of the bloggers, of what they can offer.
The Brands
I appreciated the fact that some of the brands really explained their businesses to us. Some even walked us through as to how bloggers and businesses could help each other. Among the brands that stood out for me were Acer, Krispy Kreme, Henry’s Professional, Niu by Vikings, Max’s, Victoria Court and Sample Room.
I specifically enjoyed the Krispy Kreme booth because we got the chance to experience decorating our donuts.
I also enjoyed the Victoria Court booth! I was hoping to win a free overnight stay. Haha! But I got the second best thing which is a 25% discount. Haha! I’m not sure though if it would come in handy in the future. :p
The Experience
More than the freebies, what I appreciated the most is I got to experience such an event. It’s a testament that businesses are starting to recognize the power of blogging. =)
Uo nga andame ko ding pens! :D
