Restaurant Review: Zoricho Take Me Home

After our team’s archery session, I went to Robinsons Galleria to meet my husband so we could have dinner together. We agreed to just eat at the first restaurant we see which is near the mall’s exit. All the muscles in my body were put to a stretch so I wasn’t really in mood to walk. Anyway, the first restaurant we saw was Zoricho.

My first impression of Zoricho was really nice. The staff members greeted us, “Welcome home” instead of the usual “Welcome to <insert restaurant’s name here>” or “Good morning/afternoon/evening!”

Zoricho has a wide array of food choices in their menu. But since it appears to me that dishes with longganisa are their specialties, my husband and I decided to try their Zoricho Lasagna and one of their Zoricho All-Day Breakfast choices.

Boyet initially enjoyed his plate. But he told me that the longganisa became too overpowering later on. He said that he would probably not be able to finish his plate if not for the fried egg. I took a bite of the longganisa, and it’s not bad at all. But it’s quite intense for palates that are not accustomed to such strong flavors.

I chose to have lasagna for dinner because the photo on Zoricho’s menu was very inviting. With the cheese overload, I knew that I was up for a gastronomic treat. But looks can be deceiving.


In reality, this is what I got.

Just like Boyet’s food, the lasagna is not that bad. I was just expecting to be served with something that looks more like the one in the photo. The cheese was not enough. The layers of lasagna pasta are too thick making it impossible for me to taste anything other than the pasta.

Our first time at Zoricho didn’t meet our expectations. The staff members are very warm and pleasant, but the food was just so-so. As soon as I got home, I checked for online reviews of Zoricho. There are actually a lot of positive feedback from bloggers so I guess we just chose the not so popular choices from their menu. :|
