Restaurant Review: Bubba Gump

Bubba Gump was the chosen meeting place for our second photography mentoring session. Bubba Gump is famous for seafood specifically shrimps. I have been to Bubba Gump a few times before and I love their Shrimper’s Heaven.

The meeting was scheduled at 1 p.m. so I already ate before I left the house. Boyet skipped lunch since he had to leave earlier to pick me up. After a few minutes of going through their menu, he decided to have the Surgeonfish with Mango Pineapple Salsa. Surgeonfish is locally known to us as labahita. My mom usually cooks this fish in sweet and sour sauce or just plain deep fried fillets. Anyway, Bubba Gump’s version is pan seared topped with mango and pineapple. It was served with jasmine rice.

I only had their All-American Cheesy Fries; French fries drizzled with a mixture of sour cream and cheese sauce topped with a generous amount of bacon bits and green onions. I never really liked French fries with sour cream but this one made me convert.
