Lunch at Italianni’s

Before watching The Proposal last Saturday, Boyet and I were running out of choices so we decided to have lunch at Italianni’s. It was a little past 10 in the morning so I guessed we were their buena mano. I think that was why one of the wait staff politely asked us if we are willing to wait for at least 15 minutes for their bread. I didn’t know what she was referring to until she served the complimentary bread. It was served hot along with olive oil and balsamic vinegar (?). I assumed because it was sour hehe!

Boyet ordered Fried Calamari as starter. I loved the fact that the squid is so tender and not oily. It was a little bland but it goes well with the marinara sauce.

We also got to try their Lasagna. The serving was really huge and I liked the smoky flavor of the beef. I also loved the variety of cheeses that were present on the dish. We were just wondering why the base was so brittle. We don’t know if it was burnt or that was just how they really prepare their lasagna.

I opted for their Classic Pizza which is topped with sausages, mushrooms, peppers and mozzarella cheese. I get disappointed with pizzas served with soggy toppings but this one was so different because I could hear the crunching sound of the bell peppers.

We had to take home some leftovers because we were both satiated. We had to literally drag each other to the cinema. Thank God the movie was so hilarious. Because if not, I would have just paid my movie ticket and slept inside.
