Texas Roadhouse | Robinsons Place Manila

Texas Roadhouse is probably our favorite restaurant from the Bistro Group. We love it so much that when you ask Zayne where she wants to it, her default answer is always Texas Roadhouse. Their Robinsons Manila branch has seen Zayne grow. We used to frequent this specific branch pre-pandemic, and it was one of the first restaurants we went to when the restrictions had finally eased.

This site used to be a very active food blog where I posted at least one restaurant review or recipe every week. But with motherhood and my crazy work schedule, this blog needed to take the back seat. Plus, when you go to a restaurant with a hungry baby, taking photos of your food is impossible. I’m just glad that Zayne is now very encouraging that she even reminds me to take photos before we eat. Unfortunately, my “photography” skills became a little rusty after years of hiatus in blogging. So, please excuse my photos. Hihi.

When I asked Zayne why she loves going back to Texas Roadhouse, she said that it’s because of the basket of complimentary bread they serve. I can’t blame her because their free bread is really yummy! It’s always served hot! It’s best eaten when you spread it with cinnamon butter. It’s heavenly! You can even ask for more. *wink wink*

Apart from the free bread, you also get free peanuts! I don’t know how they do it, but their peanuts are always perfectly salted.

We’ve been to Texas Roadhouse countless of times before. To be honest, this is the only reason that we renew our Bistro card. Haha! The last time we went to their Robinsons Manila branch was last September to celebrate Papa’s birthday. When we’re dining with my parents, we always make sure to get their platters, so we get to enjoy a little bit of everything.

On this specific visit, we had their Cowboy Meat Platter. It consists of Baby Back Ribs, Roast Beef, and Andouille Sausage.

I loved the smoky flavors of the Baby Back Ribs. The meat is so tender that you can simply touch it with your fork, and you can effortlessly get the meat. The platter also comes with two kinds of sausages. I thought they were the same until I noticed that one was pale, while the other was red. A bite to both gave my taste buds an extraordinary treat. Both are smoky, juicy, and packed with so many different flavors. One is a bit spicier than the other, though. And, let’s not forget the Roast Beef. The melts-in-your-mouth beef is proof that it came from roast beef heaven!

We also got their Texan Seafood Platter. It has Crispy Mahi-Mahi, Grilled Shrimp, and Fried Calamari.

Cooking shrimp is always tricky, but the Grilled Shrimp from Texas Roadhouse has the perfect texture! I’m not sure what they put in it, although it looks and tastes like cajun seasoning to me. Whatever it is, it did an amazing job in enhancing the flavors of the shrimp! Calamari is another tricky dish, but just like the Grilled Shrimp, it was perfectly cooked. The Grilled Mahi-Mahi is a bit salty, but squeezing a bit of the lemon juice did its trick. The platter also comes with a serving of chips on the side.

Both the Cowboy Meat Platter and Texan Seafood Platter have coleslaw, corn and veggies on the side.

Texas Roadhouse never disappoints. And just like what I said earlier in this post, the Robinsons Manila Branch has seen Zayne grow. I’ll cherish the remaining years that she still excitedly asks for a picture wearing a cowboy hat!
