Baskin-Robbins made a comeback to the Philippines last month. Its first branch happens to be in Central Square Building, Bonifacio Global City which is just a few cartwheels away from where I work. I used to hate working in BGC, but I have learned to love it as it slowly turns into a foodie’s haven.
I mentioned in previous posts that I try to walk along BGC during lunch breaks because that’s the only time that I could get some exercise. I had been meaning to go to Baskin-Robbins, but the photos of long queues that I saw from some blogs discouraged me to do so. Plus, it’s already the rainy season so the girls and I could not go out of the office to walk. But one afternoon, we finally got the chance to head to Central Square to check out Baskin-Robbins!!! (Naglalakad kami papunta sa kainan. IKR?! :p)
The sight at Baskin-Robbins is very different from the photos I’ve seen in blogs. There were only a few people ahead of us in the queue. I’m not sure if it's because the Baskin-Robbins fever has died down (Remember Serenitea, J.CO and the likes?!) or maybe because it was a weekday (oras ng trabaho pa, haha) when we paid a visit. But still, all seats were occupied when we went there.
Baskin-Robbins offers a lot of ice cream flavors. In all my years of eating ice cream, I have to say that Baskin-Robbins has one of the most extensive choices of ice cream flavors. Customers get the chance to try before purchasing. I tried the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and the Pralines ‘n Cream. I had a hard time choosing between the two! I was so tempted to get both, but I was still full from my lunch. I ended up having the Pralines ‘n Cream.
This scoop has all my favorites – vanilla ice cream, caramel, pralines and pecans!!! Something this delectable should be illegal!!! You may think I am overreacting, but I ended up closing my eyes and saying “Ang sarap” non-stop while devouring this scoop of ice cream. Those with sweet tooth will definitely love it.
Three of the girls got the Chocolate Mousse Royale. It was good, too. It has subtler sweetness compared with the Pralines ‘n Cream. Customers may opt to add toppings, but my Pralines ‘n Cream is already a rock star on its own!
Aside from ice cream, Baskin-Robbins also offers milk shakes and ice cream cakes. The ice cream cakes look delish! I want one for my birthday. Ehem, ehem! :p
So in case you’re going to Central Square for that 4DX experience, swing by Baskin-Robbins and treat yourself with some good ice cream. =)
