Where To Go In Bicol: Cagraray Eco-Energy Park

As soon as we got settled at Misibis Bay, we planned the activities for the day to make the most out of our stay. First on our list was the eco-park tour. We were informed by the Misibis Bay staff members that the Cagraray Eco-Energy Park is outside the Misibis Bay property so we needed to use a golf cart to transport us to the park. They informed us that we needed to pay PHP150/pax for the golf cart. Daig pa ang metro ng taxi?! I actually don’t have a problem with the PHP150 fee because I really wanted to see the famous amphitheater. But since we already paid PHP3,418/pax for the day tour, it would have been nice if they just included the eco-park tour in the package.

Kuya Eman was assigned to bring us to the park. He was very warm and friendly. When we reached the entrance, he convinced us to go down the golf cart to have our pictures taken. Driver na, photographer pa si Kuya Eman! :p

Not far from the entrance is the amphitheater. It’s probably the signature spot of the park. Aside from its magnificent structure, it also gives a serene view of the sea. We were supposed to go down to take pictures below, but there were other tourists. We promised to just come back on our way out, but it started to drizzle after a few minutes. Bicol weather is bipolar! One minute the sun is scorching hot, then it’ll rain after a couple of minutes. Parang PMS mood ko lang ang peg! >:)

I would have wanted to stay there for just a few more minutes, but the rain ruined it. We then asked Kuya Eman to proceed with the tour. Please be reminded that we were in a golf cart. That means that we can get wet even with light rain. Anyareh sa 150 ‘ko?!

Anyway, Kuya Eman brought us to the chapel. The structure may strike as simple, but its façade gave me a calming effect. Nakalimutan ko na ‘yung pagmukmok sa 150 ko. :p

Fortunately, the chapel was open so we were able to take a glimpse of it and say a prayer. The chapel was really hot inside, but Kuya Eman told us that the chapel is air-conditioned. Mostly white and adorned with chandeliers, this chapel is perfect for an intimate wedding. Situated just outside the chapel is a bare space which can serve as the reception venue.

When we got out of the chapel, Kuya Eman offered us bottled water. Though we brought water for ourselves, we graciously took his offer. Masulit ko man lang ang 150 ko. Bwahahaha!

Kuya Eman then brought us to the hanging bridge. Unfortunately, it started to rain a little harder. Guests need to trek for a few minutes to reach the hanging bridge. It would have been an easy one, but the rain made it a bit difficult. Joie kept on telling us about how beautiful the view is as shown in a KrisTV episode so we endured the rain, steep path and sticky mud just to have a glimpse of it.

When we reached the hanging bridge, the only thing we saw was a giant swimming pool without water in it. I’m not sure if they were cleaning it. But the dried leaves and trash scattered around the pool made it look like a perfect spot for a horror movie. Hay, ang 150 ko! :p

We didn’t leave the golf cart when we reached the high ropes course area because it was still raining. I would have wanted to try their zipline, but they stopped the operation because of the rain. And I doubt that it was included with our day tour package. Ang sakit na nga ng loob ko sa 150 ko e, gagastos pa ako?! :p
