Payless ShoeShource at SM Manila

Last Saturday, Boyet and I went to the SM Manila branch of BDO as we needed to settle some personal stuff. I was very firm on boycotting SM not only because of the SM Baguio brouhaha, but also because their comfort rooms do not even have tissue papers and paper towels. But since we really needed to go to BDO, and we couldn’t go home right away so as not to disturb my father’s siesta, we decided to roam around the mall.

I got a little nostalgic since SM Manila used to be our constant hangout when we were still in college. Ang mall na ‘to ang saksi 'nung mga panahon na wala pa akong pera, at naglalaway ako sa mga damit, sapatos at mga libro ni Nicholas Sparks! :p

A lot of things have changed from the last time I was there. The familiar stalls were gone, and new ones have opened. The very first thing I noticed because of the gigantic tarpaulin that welcomed us at one of the mall’s entrances was the addition of Payless.

Years ago, Payless was simply that instant noodles that miraculously heal my fever as a kid. When I tried it a few months ago with the hope that it could still do its wonder, I was disappointed. Now, Payless has a different meaning especially for women.

I asked hubby if we could check it out with a promise in my heart that I wouldn’t buy anything. Unlike other stores, Payless has their shoes arranged by sizes. That I learned the hard way when I went to the next aisle only to the find the same designs of shoes. Haha! Sorry naman, perstaym e! :p

Even with my petite frame, I love flats! So seeing all the cute flat shoes, I gave in to the temptations. I was initially holding on to the open-toed shoes on sale, but I also couldn’t let go of the cute stripe shoes. The ending: I bought both! Argh!!!

Hubby, who didn’t want to be outshined also got himself a pair of new shoes. With a little guilt, we came up with a plan to hide the shoes in the car and not let my mom find it. My mom always complains that our shoes are always scattered in places. Everything was going well when Boyet suddenly told my mom that I bought two pairs of shoes! Sumbungerong frog! Grrrr!!!

To pacify my mom, I told her about this place called Payless that sells very affordable shoes that come from the US. When I told her about how much my shoes cost, and that Boyet finally assembled the hanging shoe rack that I bought last year, my mom asked my dad to accompany her to Payless! =))
