Not so extremely pleasant lunch at Xtremely Xpresso
Published on June 28, 2010
It was time to go home but none of us could decide what to have for lunch. So I suggested having lunch outside the resort, probably anywhere in Subic. We didn’t have anything in mind though Joie kept on saying to look out for Meat Plus. Unfortunately, we didn’t find it so we ended up at Xtremely Xpresso. We had a nice and memorable experience during our first visit and we all enjoyed the food. But sadly, it wasn’t a pleasant comeback for us that day.
We arrived at the restaurant a little before 2 in the afternoon so the place was noticeably jam-packed. One of the waiting staff asked us if we wanted to stay outside since all seats inside were already occupied. The sun was scorching so we immediately said no. The waitress told us that we were #6 in the waiting list. She then recommended placing our orders so that the food would be ready as soon as we are seated. It took us almost ten minutes to decide after going through their menu. We then opted to go inside and sit at the couch in their waiting area. We called a waitress and placed our orders.
We asked a waiter regarding the waiting list and told us that we would be the third customers to be seated. After a few minutes, the food started to arrive. We told the waiter that we had no plans to eat at the couch so we kept on following up about the waiting list. But it seemed that he didn’t pay attention and looked so lost. I wasn’t even sure if he listened to us. He started bringing plates and utensils so Joie calmly repeated that we had no plans to eat at the couch. But the waiter said that we couldn't transfer since our food was already served. That made me snap immediately. I was like, “Do you expect us to eat here?” We made it clear from the very beginning that we wanted to have a seat. And besides, we didn’t just order for coffee so it was pretty obvious that sitting in the couch was way out of the equation. We called the waitress to explain but instead of being apologetic, she gave us a cold shoulder and walked away. She approached the waiter and they started blaming each other. She gave us an unfriendly look which made me lost my appetite. I didn’t have the energy to take photos of everything on our table because of the staff’s attitude towards us.
Joie didn’t enjoy her salad. Erlie’s pesto was soaked in oil. Boyet was so unsatisfied with his baby back ribs. He said that it was bland and not as tender as what he got from Racks.
