Cream Puffs

I have been trying to make the most out of my Christmas vacation by trying out new things. Boyet and I tried making chocolate candies a few days ago and everybody loved the pork siomai that we prepared yesterday.

I woke up early this morning to try making cream puffs for the first time. I got the recipe from the cookbook I received as a birthday gift from Boyet a few years ago. I don’t have any formal trainings in culinary but I have attempted to bake brownies, cookies and simple cakes.

It didn’t look so appealing but I was surprised that my mom really liked it. My mom always has something awful to say no matter how delectable a food is. Things like: “It’s delicious but it’s really oily”, or “It’s fine if you just put a little more salt in it”. So I looked at her reaction when she tasted my cream puffs. She said it was delicious without any catch! Yippee! As a bonus for me, she ate 7 cream puffs in one sitting!

Happy New Year! ^_^

  1. I love homemade cream puffs and have had a long journey to find the perfect cream puff recipe. Every recipe I've tried before has produced eggie and less-than-stellar results. Finally, I found a recipe that is crisp on top while still hollow and dry inside. The perfect little pocket to hold a surprise creamy filling. :)
